Description
In the Material Mgmt > Inventory Update > ICN, there is no barcode scan field for Serial Numbers.
In the Material Mgmt > Receiving, the screen tries to save to favorites if you scan into Serial Number and NSN block. The beginning of Air Force data matrix Serial Number labels start with ?[)>06.
Recommended
In the Material Mgmt > Inventory Update > ICN, add a scanable Serial Number field. In the Material Mgmt > Receiving, add a scanable Serial Number field and scanable NSN field. Trim the [)>06 off the beginning of Air Force data matrix S/N labels.
Mission Critical
This is not mission critical, but definite time savings and error proofing.
Benefits
This will be a huge time savings and error proofing. It will prevent data entry errors on long Serial Numbers.
