Description
DISA is unable to establish an enterprise barcode standard within the Agency. Currently barcode prefixes are assigned by UIC. The field offices that barcode assets at their locations then ship to DISA HQ results in multiple styles and prefixes (i.e. DISAPACXXXX, DECCXXXX, ETC.). DISA HQ also ships equipment to its field offices while re-barcode their assets with a local Asset Id. DISA wishes to transition to a uniform barcoding solution across all its UIC's and databases/instances. Recommended solution:?Allow all of DISAs UIC's to utilize the same Asset Id prefixes with autoassign to ensure there are no duplicates assigned across its enterprise.
