Description
Inability of technicians assigned role 8018 to update labor times on sub work orders assigned to them.
Recommended
Current MNU role definition for Program ID WPMAN12 - Work Order AU has a "P" under role type. Remove the "P" and allow technicians full access to sub work orders assigned to them in order to update labor times and order parts from the warehouse via the parts tab.
Mission Critical
Mission Critical and Mandated. Technicians are mandated by Air Force Instruction to gain access and maintain an active DPAS account. Each technician that is not a shop leader or supervisor needs low level access to view a work order, document their labor time once work is complete and request parts from the warehouse utilizing the parts tab.
Benefits
Implementing this change will reduce time spent by shop supervisors closing jobs for their subordinates and filling out parts information to request from the warehouse. Additionally, this well as reduce the need to print paper work orders that technicians are currently keeping record of their labor hours on and eliminate paper parts requests. Expanding 8018 to allow technicians to navigate the sub work orders assigned to them will streamline the work order process and capitalize on the paperless work order/parts request capability that DPAS can provide.
Users
Without this type of functionality the entire Air Force agency is negatively affected. Making the above changes to 8018, would streamline vehicle maintenance managements ability to continue providing top notch service to all Air Force customers.
