Incorporate Assessment Review Capaility For Individual Unit Armory Returns |
Warehouse |
Navy |
Done |
Description Currently the DPAS Warehouse module provides no method for scheduling a review of materiel being returned from an Individual/Unit/Armory Return as it does within the Receipts process.
Recommended There is a requirement to have DPAS schedule a review of materiel being returned from an issue. SPECWARCOM's current system allows the warehouse to schedule an "Assessment" for each serially managed item being returned as part of the receipt/return. During the Assessment process, the user can change Condition Cd, may make a minor repair, and record utilization (Rounds Fired, Miles Used, Hours run, etc.). When a repair is made, the warehouse worker is given a screen of the BOM of the item. They select what parts were used and the system subtracts them from inventory making a record of what was performed on the item. In addition, should the item be beyond local repair, they can mark the item as to be shipped out for repair. A similar function needs to be incorporated into DPAS's Individual, Unit and Armory returns process. It is seen as enabling a QC function for these types of returns and providing additional capabilities with in. By performing the Assessment after the receipt, it allows the Unit to perform a return more quickly and allows the Warehouse to work the assessment as they have time.
Mission Critical This capability needs to be a part of DPAS in order for SPECWARCOM to transition its Armory/Visual Augmentation System warehouses to DPAS.
Benefits Enables SPECWARCOM to eliminate their current system which is costs several million dollars a year to maintain. This SCR is being submitted on behalf of Navy/SPECWARCOM.
Users There could be other applications of this capability by other users of the DPAS Warehouse module. For Example: The USMC CSP has Generators and other systems that require reviews and records to be maintained.

Conduct Manage Physical inventories of Issued Materiel |
Warehouse |
Navy |
Done |
Description SPECWARCOM issues weapons and visual augmentation systems that must be inventoried every 30 days. Returnable Materiel that is out on an Individual, Unit or Armory issue is considered inventory of the warehouse that it has been issued from. The current DPAS Warehouse Physical Inventory process provides no method for conducting / managing Physical Inventories of issued items.
Recommended Provide a process where the DPAS Warehouse can, as configured by the user, manage and conduct Physical Inventories of Issued materiel. The process needs to provide for the identification of suspected lost / lost items tracking them through the Report of Survey process and subsequent removal from the accountable record, should the materiel never be found.
Mission Critical Yes - Regulatory requirement
Benefits Allows NETWARCOM to remain regulatory compliant upon implementing DPAS. Improve overall accuracy of the records as lost / misplaced items are detected earlier.
Users Yes, for those users of the Warehouse Module. Most users have an Annual Inventory Requirement. This SCR is being submitted by Leidos on behalf of the Navy/SPECWARCOM.

Users This mainly will affect the APOs since they are the ones who should be doing the reconciliation of inventories.
