Description
There is no document register in DPAS. Without the document register, the accountable officer cannot reconcile the accountable documents. Document numbers now can be created without a registry which had been the baseline for the regulatory requirement to maintain supporting documentation. Also without the register, the accountable officer cannot reconcile the due-in since this was part of the Legacy DPAS register.

Recommended
Create an automated document register as it was in Legacy DPAS.

Benefits
Without having a document register within DPAS, it reduces production time since we are forced to utilize a manual document register.  With an automated register directly in DPAS, it provides 100% visibility and accuracy for each document number created for all transactions that supports accountability.  This also provides a tool to reconcile the supporting documents to insure every entry in the property book is supported by completed documentation.

Yes, it affects all users within the Army that uses AR 710-2 as their baseline to maintain accountability and to meet regulatory requirements.

Description
Currently there is no functionality in DPAS to apply attributes to Real Property. ?This functionality is available for general property and equipment assets and is helpful to identify specific assets for specific tasks.

Recommended
Add attribute functionality for Real Property assets to help identify aspects of Real Property to maximize the property's useful life.

This functionality has been requested by users during SAT activities. There is currently no indication this is mission critical or mandated.

Description
When a user is assigned to a Maintenance Activity ONLY they cannot login to DPAS. This requires Account Management to grant the user access to Property Accountability. Access ?includes the assignment of a Site-Id, roles and Actbl UIC/UIC. Once completed the user is able to successfully authenticate and switch over to the Maintenance & Utilization module. At this time access to Property Accountability can be removed. This is an inconvenience to the user because they cannot properly authenticate to their account without assistance. In addition, for auditing purposes this process is not ideal. The user has to be granted access that is not needed only to be deleted after login.

Recommended
The user be permitted to enter the module they have been assigned. This would include Supply Store, M&U, Warehousing etc.

Mission Critical
Yes, the Army is looking at M&U access for 100-112 new UICs. If this occurs it has the potential of 200-300 new users. In addition the Warehousing module for USMC will be released sometime next year it would be the same issue for them.

Users will be able to authenticate to their account on their own.

Description
An OM&S Type Asset Code is requested for OM&S assets being placed into DPAS. The OM&S assets should not depreciate. This drop down will better identify the assets in DPAS and help with financial reporting of asset.

Description:
Request an interface with the IUID Registry to receive Puts and Takes.
"Pedigree" data should be available from the IUID Registry to DPAS, as well as information passed from DPAS to the Registry, similar to the way "virtual" UIIs are passed.

Recommend:
Build a process to place a pending receipt or process a disposal from the IUID registry. The process should be built as generic as possible to be able to receive transactions from other systems in the future.
There are other interfaces which exist now that use the Global Exchange Service (GEX), and this solution should allow all of them to work in the same way.

Mission Critical:
Yes. Many programs are used that generate transaction files that are written to corresponding GEX out or in folders. It would be better and more efficient to consolidate these into a generic interface allowing in and out processes.

Benefits:
This would allow agencies to keep their records in sync.

Users:
This would affect a large number of users as they process various types of transactions.

we will not be taking data from the IUID registry for receipts or disposals.

Description
The DPAS Maintenance and Utilization (M&U) module and DPAS Supply Store module does not provide functionality to dispatch bulk items to users. M&U can dispatch assets that reside on the Property Accountability module and are profiled in maintenance. The DPAS Supply Store has the functionality to issue product but not formally track and have product return capability.

Recommended
Incorporate functionality in the Dispatch process of the M&U module to accommodate bulk assets and their associated balances. Or improve the DPAS Supply Store to include a "return" function along with the ability to easily track the last customer to which the product was issued.

Mission Critical
Currently, this will address the USMC business process of issuing out bulk assets (tools) and return of these tools while maintaining bulk balances.

Benefits
This will save time in assigning Asset Ids and support quick setup of a bin of tools (e.g. sockets), labeling the bin with one Bulk identification code, and issue out of small bulk items.

Users
Yes. This will affect all users with access to the DPAS M&U dispatch process.
